Lifting Lightly

I need to think lightly.

Things have been too heavy.

Too serious, too tiresome, too much of the same….troublesome thoughts

Chaos and confusion and anger on the tv screen

Where are the comedians? Where are the simple family shows?

Where are the wholesome movies, our heroes and our truth tellers?

Why do so many buzz words bug me?

Where are the neighbors knocking on my door to check up on me?

Where is my family? Too busy with their lives….no calls…no letters…no visits.

Yet, all these things are asked of me….expected….assumed.

“Where have you been? Haven’t heard from you in awhile? Was worried about you.”

Really? Really…..really? Are you without means to make a call, drop in….write?

Tired of being the one….tired of being the only soul out there that seems to have one.

It is how Jesus must have felt with crowds always pressing in.

Tired and overwhelmed, Jesus would resort to a quiet place….time with His Father, to recover and be refreshed.

Yes….we are asked to do these things I easily complain about and grow weary of.

But Jesus is ever near me.

He will carry my heavy load, I only need to let Him take it from me.

Aaaah, now what I have left is much lighter.

Thank you, Jesus!

“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” (1 Peter 5:7)
