One section read’ “Today we confess that we are not worthy of your Love and ask that you would forgive the sin of every area of our life.”
another said…. “”we even find it difficult to love ourselves”.
I could write a book on this opening prayer…and maybe one day I will, just to break it down and refute it.
and another part…”Forgive our lack of courage and commitment.”
Sick and this sounds like it came from the playbook of Karl Marx himself.
Definition of Marxism in a nutshell: One could no longer be content with interpreting the world; one must be concerned with transforming it, which means transforming both the world itself and human consciousness of it.
You can watch the first part of the service where the prayer comes up within the first 5 minutes and includes text. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=753035752160791&extid=JiDkbu18Z1l9dVLE
Wake up churches! The enemy is within your walls and wants to tear apart your congregation. KNOW THE ENEMY!
God’s love is unconditional.
Not sure what exactly I am suppose to hate about myself.
My sin is forgiven.
I have courage because of Christ living in me and committed to tell the Gospel to my family and all the world.
God is who the world needs. The One True God. God’s love is given to all his creation. It lives in and through me. I am not condemned because Christ lives in me. He is my Savior and died once….for all….for all my sins and yours, yesterday’s sins, today’s and tomorrow’s.
I don’t want to sin, and with Jesus he helps me be good, but I am a saint who sins. Only God is perfect. I will never be perfect until that which is perfect comes. (1 Corinthians 10)
This opening prayer reminded me of a clip I saw on the news last night of a Catholic Priest who , at the beginning of August one Sunday had a prayer too. A NYC Catholic priest had congregants denounce white privilege during MASS. Is that going to be next thing asked of us by the ELCA?
Do a search…..[VIDEO] – NYC Catholic priest has congregants denounce white privilege during MASS.
Satan comes to condemn, accuse and lie to us. I am not sure who wrote this prayer at the beginning of this sevice, but it is vague so could be about something totally different than what I am thinking about. Maybe that is the point. Satan causes confusion.
God is clear. God is loving and God is uplifting. How about a prayer of praise and worship of the God whom we love at the beginning of a service? The enemy hates any praise and worship of the one true God.
I think I will write my thoughts to the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America).
I don’t think our Pastors would write such a statement. They have to follow the rules and bylaws set by the ELCA.
I am learning a lot about the troubles we are having in America. I am waking up to the truth about the Democratic Party. Read: The Iron Triangle by Vince Everett Ellison.
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. ” (1 Corinthians 13:4-7)
