I Can’t Be Micro Managed.

I think I decided a long time ago…although, maybe it wasn’t even a decision but more of how I am made. I think the Creator makes people who are followers and those that can take on a project and just run with it. He makes us with many gifts or few, but we all have something that is unique about us and can benefit others if used in a charitable way. We can also use our gifts and talents to destroy. We all have free will.

You can be a song writer with beautiful lyrics that lift others up and inspire them. You can also be as successful that speaks to another audience that causes only perversion and destruction. Both are made by the Creator but one chooses to use their talent for the good and the other, for evil.

If I am asked to take on a project or task I have no trouble in my head or on paper what I will do to accomplish the task. I have spearheaded community events, but under 100 people
that I managed and have helped promote and execute big projects to the benefit of over 100 people, but with under 100 to manage.

I am not that ambitious where I would offer to do more than that. Yet, with the right help and management anything is possible with God at your side. It is true and what I believe fully. Never underestimate what God can do through you if you feel a nudge from Him to step out of your comfort zone to do something that is good. Give him the glory, have faith and be in constant communication with Him and he will bring what he wants to fullfilment.

I think of so many in the Bible that were called to do something great. Abraham was asked to leave his homeland, Moses called to lead the people out of slavery, Noah chosen to build the Ark….in the middle of a dry land. Nehemiah to help finish the wall of Jerusalem that was not finished. Jonah to tell the people of Nineveh to repent. Mary to carry the Christ child. The list is endless.

So the Bible is a hard book to read for you? Go to some of these stories. The Bible is so relatable to any time that we are living in. I read it because it gives me hope and encouragement. I lifts my spirit when I am down and reading through the Psalms. When I had a project I was working on that I felt massive, I read the story of Nehemiah. I clung to this story and it helped hold my faith together.

When you take on something bigger than you, God is the one you need to listen to. Others will give you their cares and worries and criticisms. You will get calls and emails that will discourage you if you let it. You will be irritated and brought down and second guessing. If you hold on to the sure foundation, which is your faith built on the rock who is Jesus Christ, nothing will move you. If you feel it is what God has laid on your heart and others you trust have helped you to get to the position of leadership, then stand firm.

I have had even those at our church who were some of the more influential in our congregation, reach out to me when a big project I was leading and managing was underway. They wanted to know all the details and give me a report and such and such. You know how it goes when you start something. You get the questions, the doubters, the skeptics and the negative remarks all thrown at you at once.

I am not a very diplomatic person when it comes to such things. I don’t attend meetings although was on church council….once. I will never again, but doubt will ever be asked again, and don’t care. I am direct and if something is annoying to me or bothersome or irritating, I take care of the situation right away to not waste anyone’s time….theirs or mine.

People know right away where I stand. I have been called “witch” “bossy” and lately “General” by my family and my peers. I am not that proud of it and try to bring things down a notch, especially with the grand children.

I just can not be micro managed and when I feel the pressure of someone getting too overbearing with me, I lock and load on them right away. “I can not be micro managed. I have this handled. I have been thinking about all this already for months. No worries.”
It is always enough to send them away for good, but also you do risk a friendship, which I have.

The project was completely finished and in record time, without a hitch. I give all the glory to God who saw me through. I don’t regret letting people know that I must be left alone. It is always the ones who already are in leadership, to question your own. These people avoid me now more than they used to but do admit the project looks very good for our church.
We recovered our church pews.

When you are called by God to do something and your heart and mind is fully engaged,
don’t worry about the naysayers and the mockers and those that would try to bring you down. Focus on the goal ever before you and God will help you see it through.

God did not call you to fail but will give you all that you need to get the job done. He will even send you people and things you never expected to come along side you. He is so amazing. God is so faithful! If anyone is going to micro manage you, let it be the Creator who attends to all the details in our world, even those that are microscopic.

“My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:2
